What I do
I am an emerging leader in research and learning in the higher education sector.
Research
I investigate what makes businesses successful in modern business environments.
I hold research-active roles on projects with a focus on understanding emerging international opportunities, entrepreneurial behaviours and mindsets, and digitally-driven internationalisation.
Learning
I create learning environments that help adult learners develop the advanced competencies they need for real-world success in business, work and their careers.
I have years of experience as a presenter, unit coordinator, lecturer and facilitator for diverse groups of proactive individuals, including entrepreneurs, business owners, and graduate-level business students.
Outreach
I share valuable insight, skills, and experience within and across distinctly different communities, cultures and countries.
I regularly speak, write and work for industry and community groups on topics relating to management, marketing and strategy, with a particular focus on performance and outcomes where there is diversity at business, market or country levels.
Real-world experience and academic rigor
Accredited translator, international marketing director, entrepreneur… these are just some of the positions I’ve held over my 25-year multinational professional career*.
I also hold advanced academic degrees in technical and specialised translation and international business.
This allows me to bring academic rigor and real-life business experience to my work as a researcher, educator and leader.
* Fun fact: I’ve also worked as an automotive paintshop worker, a fishmonger, a German technical support agent, and a singer in a 15th-century Irish castle. Feel free to use this as an icebreaker when we meet 😉
